COVID made repairs to my truck very stressful due to parts being on back order. Honest One worked very hard to make sure I was satisfied. Very pleased with the repairs.
Mr. Spriggle, we do understand that this has been a frustrating situation and we are doing the best we can. The parts for your truck have been on national back order since January, we cannot fix you vehicle without the correct parts. Our technician was very diligent in his procedure to remove the 8 injectors hold down bolts. He used heat, PB Blaster and Deep Creep multiple times over several days, unfortunately one of the bolts broke off in the head. We hired a professional welder recommended by Ford to remove the broken bolt. He was unsuccessful removing the bolt fragment. At this point, the repair will require the use of an approved tool to drill out the broken bolt and repair the threads. There is a repair kit manufactured for this issue as it is a common problem. However, this procedure is not always successful. We asked you to come by so we could show you the issue and discuss options, which could include bolt repair, head removal and repair at a machine shop, with the teardown completed it is very possible that replacing the long block could cost less and give you a new engine with 100,000-mile warranty. I know you are unable to come by physically. We are trying to be completely transparent with you as to all the possibilities.
